Learn More About The Frozen Lemonade Cup

The Frozen Lemonade Cup is a not-for-profit organization & charity event run by 3 hockey parents and their kids. The event features Mites, Squirts, and PeeWees, facing-off against cancer with a ice hockey tournament. Our mission is to raise awareness, support families and fund impactful research for children with cancer. We work directly with the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation with a shared mission of empowering EVERYONE to help cure childhood cancer; all proceeds from the Frozen Cup events go directly to ALSF.

Although we donate all of our net proceeds to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, The Frozen Lemonade Cup is an independent organization and is not affiliated with ALSF.

Our History

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Opens Up Shop

When Alex Scott, who was diagnosed with childhood cancer just before her first birthday, was four, she told her parents she wanted to set up a front-yard lemonade stand. Her plan: to give the money to doctors to help them find a cure. Her first “Alex’s Lemonade Stand”, held with the help of her older brother Patrick, raised an astonishing $2,000 in one day. While bravely fighting her own cancer, Alex continued to set up lemonade stands every year. As news spread of the remarkable girl so dedicated to helping other sick children, people everywhere were inspired to start their own lemonade stands—donating the proceeds to her cause.

The Frozen Lemonade Cup was born in 2015 with the idea that hockey players could follow Alex’s lead and could help in the fight to eradicate childhood cancer.  Our first event, at Ice Line, in West Chester, PA featured 60 Mites and Squirts and raised $7,500.  The event has since grown to 3 cities and we plan to keep expanding.  Our mission is to teach hockey players how to serve others through charity while having fun playing hockey while they are young (7-12) and then to fold them in as volunteers to help us build The Frozen Lemonade Cup into a 31 city force that pediatric cancer has to reckon with.

Join us to play, build and eradicate childhood cancer.

Alex's Lemonade Stand

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

In 2004 when Alex passed away at the age of eight—her stand and inspiration had raised more than $1 million towards finding a cure for the disease that took her life. Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was started by her parents in 2005 to continue the work that Alex began. Our mission is simple: to change the lives of children with cancer through funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families, and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is the living embodiment of Alex’s spirit of determination and hope. Like Alex, we at The Frozen Lemonade Cup believe that every person can make a difference. Together, we can bring about a cure. Please join us in “making lemons into lemonade” today! Watch the video below to learn more about ALSF.

Covid – The Frozen Frozen Lemonade Cup

Due to the global pandemic, the FLC was frozen for 2020 and 2021.  We continued to work behind the scenes to get ready for the thaw and revival of the tournament.

The FLC resumes!  After a two year freeze, the FLC defrosted in 2022 at our new home at Center Ice in Oaks, PA.  Demand for the tournament was off the charts and we sold out all three divisions.  The event featured games, prizes, food trucks and a very competitive tournament.  The FLC was able to make another sizable donation to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
